Yesterday I sent out an email to The Root Cause Community and I have received such overwhelming feedback about how important the message is, that I thought I had best turn it into a blog. So here goes…
No-one cares more about your children than you, right? So…
If not you, Then Who?
I know you love recipes, and I promise I will share one today too. But first – I want you to ponder these facts:
Coles was recently fined $2,500,000 for misleading fresh-baked bread claims.Turns out, their bread was partly baked overseas months earlier, and the baking finished in their stores. Source here.
70% of Australian Grown Strawberries are sprayed with a pesticide which was banned worldwide in a United Nations Protocol in 1989. Australian growers were given a special dispensation to eradicate usage by 2005. Now 10 years later, it’s still being used. Source here.
80% of products on supermarket shelves today contain sugar. There are now estimated to be some 60 names for added sugar – sugar that has been removed from it’s original source and reused to sweeten or preserve. Australians on average eat 40 teaspoons of sugar per day! Source – That Sugar Film. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recently stated adults should have no more than 6 teaspoons a day.
Now let me ask you this:
Does anyone care about your children more than you?
– AND –
If you don’t take a stand for your own children’s health NOW, then who will?
It’s obvious from the above examples that the Government and Big Business won’t look after your children’s health.
Yes, there are plenty of individuals out there doing great things to bring these facts into the light and to make a difference for all children. There’s:
- Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day & Petition to the G20 Summit
- Damon Gameau of That Sugar Film
- Stephanie Alexander’s School Kitchen Garden Program
- Sarah Wilson’s I Quit Sugar
- Pete Evan’s Paleo Way
- Alexx Stuart Low Tox Life
- and even my own mission to Transform Children’s Health, One Lunchbox At A Time...
We will continue to bang the drum, shout from the roof tops, lobby government, raise awareness and educate.
But at the end of the day, it’s really up to you.
To make a difference for your child(ren), it’s going to take YOU being a stand for their health.
Are you ready to take that stand? Do you need a little help to get started? Why not start with their school lunches – which then will have a knock-on impact to dinner and snacks too?
Join me and a group of other like-minded parents for Term 2 of The 5 Minute Healthy Lunchbox System™ eCourse. Enrol Here – Early Bird Bonuses run out 11pm Monday 13th April.
Here’s what Kim had to say after completing Term 1:
“I really did enjoy doing the course – actually signing up for the course kind of meant I was accountable – I had to put the effort in. Sometimes you may think about making these changes but never really take action because it’s all too hard if you know what I mean! I learnt a lot and have definitely put permanent changes in place for our family.”
There’s no better time than NOW to make a stand for your children’s health. If not now, then when? I am looking forward to helping you pack healthier lunchboxes, and take a stand for your children’s health. Enrol here – Early Bird Expires Monday 13th April 2015.
Now for that Recipe!
In a lunchbox survey of Mums that I completed last year, crackers were identified as one of the most common packaged food included in lunchboxes. Unfortunately, many of these are laden with additives, preservatives, salt and sometimes even sugar. I have been on a mission to create a crunchy healthy alternative that’s simple to make. After many flops, I have a winner. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to the Quinoa Cracker.
I am really looking forward to helping you pack healthy lunchboxes in about 5 minutes a day. Enrol here – Early Bird Bonuses finish 11pm Monday 13th April.
