Heya! Indrani here. As part of my Home Economics, Mum has been teaching me how to cook Bolognaise sauce (see the recipe here) and other base foods, that you can make multiple dishes out of. Her two favourite cooking phrases are ‘When you have good ingredients in the house, you can always make nutritious meals’ and, ‘With one dish, you should at least be able to make 2 other dishes’. I’ve learnt that a smart cook is one who knows her ingredients and what she’s doing. So, to help Mum I’m doing this blog of the many ways to use bolognaise mince sauce to make other meals. Let’s get started!
- Spaghetti bolognaise
- Lasagne
- Lasagne Cups
- Shepherd’s Pie
- Savoury mince with mash potato and steamed vegetables (or Deconstructed Shepherd’s Pie if you’re feeling fancy)
- Meat Pie (family sized)
- Party Sized Meat Pies (for parties or lunchboxes)
- Spaghetti Muffins
- Nachos Mince
- Home made Baked Beans (minced and beans)
- Stuffed sweet potatoes
- Chilli Con Carne
- Chicken Parmigiana
- Toasted Sandwich or waffles
- Burrito
So, I hope you liked this! If Mum doesn’t have all the recipes on her website (and she just said she doesn’t), then I have this really knowledgeable friend that you can consult. He’s called Google. (Come on, you saw that coming!). So anyway, bye.
If there are some recipes you have that I didn’t list or one you made up, post it in the comments. I want to hear them, and I’m pretty sure other people will as well.
Bye from the bus,
Indrani
