Nutrition starts before eating, and exposing kids to foods away from the table is a great way to breaking down food anxiety.
These 3 minute Nourishing Noodles were one of our Empowering Cook-Alongs, inside our Kids Health Quest Membership. We host one everyone month.
The goal of the cook-alongs isn't about getting the kids to eat whatever they cook, it's about giving them some ownership in what's being made. Most recipes are what I call Design Your Own, where there is a base group of ingredients, but then there are other ingredients, usually vegetables, that kids get to choose what they add it. This 'design' element gives them ownership, and it can sometimes be the difference between a child trying a new food or turning their nose up at it.
Sometimes it's not even the kids that come along to our Empowering Kids Cook-Alongs, sometimes it's the parents or carers, so they can learn the conversations that go along with serving a food. Sometimes the kids will even join in once they see their parent or carer doing something for themselves (we've all been there haven't we. Whenever we do something for ourselves, the kids want in on the action)
This recipe was super popular for both kids and parents. It's super quick to get to the table, and you can easily modify it so there's something a bit different for mum and dad too if you like.

This recipe also uses our broth recipe.
Hot tip: Make a big pot of broth every couple of weeks, and you'll always have some on stand by to make these noodles for those nights when everything goes to poop.
Here's how Kerry, one of our KHQ village tweaks the noodles so it's got some yummy prawns in it for mum and dad. Her daughter is still growing her tastes and that's ok too.
