Certified Instructor – The Mad Food Science Program
Marie is a mum of 4, with children ranging from ravenous teenagers to a very picky 11-year-old and a very happy 6-year-old grazer foodie. Because of her then picky 7-year-old becoming sick, with what looked like malnutrition, Marie decided that the family needed a food overhaul.
As a family they became more conscious of what was being brought into the house, as far as packaged food and concentrate on increasing their fruit and vegetables intake. 4 years on, although her son is still a little averse to choosing new foods, he has at least settled on some very unlikely fruits and vegetables that he is happy to have every day.
Marie has found the journey hard to navigate but has also seen a great improvement in the whole family's health.
Marie is a Fitness and Certified Nutrition Coach who has spent a whole lifetime as a movement specialist. She has been a dance instructor since her secondary years and although career wise has worked in different fields, she has remained focused on health and fitness throughout. Now as a Certified Mad Food Science Instructor Marie can help children to make better food choices for their health.
Marie believes that nutrition is key for many of todays ailments and that wellbeing starts with a nourished body. Marie’s husband always tells the story of a teacher telling him to fast the morning of a scholarship exam, as a full stomach will stop him concentrating. As you can probably guess he went terribly badly because he was concentrating on his rumbling stomach the whole time.
Marie believes that food is everything and that the right kind of food helps us to achieve our best.
