SOKKA UNG
Certified Instructor – The Mad Food Science Program
Sokka is multilingual and a mum cook who loves to nourish her family with real wholefoods. She left her career in the corporate world to spend quality time with her young children, and ran her local school canteen. During this time, her youngest child suffered severe eczema.
Sokka became so frustrated with the countless specialists’ appointments which always ended up with more steroid cream that never fully healed her son’s itchy skin that she started to do her own research to see if she could solve the issue in a holistic way.
By changing her family diet, her son’s eczema has healed without topical steroids. This discovery has led her to believe that ‘Food is Medicine’. She is today a passionate advocate for children’s health, and has become a Certified Instructor to help children understand and connect with real foods, and to inspire parents to start cooking again from scratch.
Sokka loves to share her kitchen hacks and tips in packing healthy school lunchboxes without breaking the budget on her Facebook page – Heal & Nourish.
In her spare time, Sokka loves to play a tune or two on her sax with her family and to get her hands dirty in her organic vegetable garden.
