The Importance of Children's Health
Right around Australia, children are eating way too much processed packaged food every day, and not enough fruits and vegetables – the food they should be eating every day.
Our job is made more difficult by food companies who use sophisticated tactics designed to get our kids wanting more and more processed food.
Studies show that eating too little fruit and vegetables leads to poor health, concentration and behaviour in our kids. This is not OK, and we're committed to doing something about it.
At The Root Cause, we want to empower all children, parents, teachers and communities to choose real food every day, every week, every year, to create a tipping point where real food becomes "normal" again.

To make our vision a reality we need to have a much bigger influence on today's generation of kids. That's why we're looking for more people – like you! – to become Certified Instructors - so there are people on the ground, in communities, spreading the word.
Our ‘done for you health education programs’ are engaging, interactive and wholistic programs, designed to kick-start behavioural change around food and sustainability, through education and inspiration.
The programs are designed to empower kids to make better choices, help parents like us get our kids to eat healthier, and encourage people in a position of influence to champion good food behaviours and conversations.
Our flagship health education programs include the Children’s Health Program which incorporates the Mad Food Science Incursion for schools and The Mad Food Science Experience for community groups. We are continually innovating, investing and developing additional programs and resources so we can have an even bigger impact in children’s health.
Our programs have reached over 200 school and 50,000 children, parents and teachers. Our Certified Instructors are working in their communities with groups like The Smith Family, Intereach, TAFE, Councils, Oosh Programs, local sports clubs and more.

The Certified Instructor Program is a 6 month online group training program for people who are passionate about Children’s Health. You’ll learn how to deliver The Root Cause’s “done for you” health education programs, and help you kick start - or add to - your own small business. Here's what you'll learn:
