I am so excited to be writing this post.

My heart is literally bursting with so much love and excitement when I say our mission to Transform Children’s Health in Australia is working, and The Mad Food Science Program™ Gets Results!

Who would have ever thought my daughter getting teased for not having packet foods in her lunchboxes would amount to this? I am so very grateful to her then Year 2 Teacher, Tracy Ninyo, for inviting me into her class to talk to the kids about real food. The Mad Food Science Program™ was designed for just this class but I knew I was onto something when mum’s were grabbing me the next day telling me about what a difference it had made to their kids.

Take a look at these 2 incredible pieces of feedback

Gympie Mum Says   Kids Thinking About Their Body

To understand why I am bursting, take a look below at my top 3 objectives of The Mad Food Science Program™. As you can see from the feedback within this post, we really are achieving these objectives – the program is getting results.

The Mad Food Science Program™

Objectives of The Mad Food Science Program

1. To get children to take responsibility for the food they eat

To give them the knowledge to understand how real food is naturally smart and helps their body, whilst most packaged food do little to nourish their body.

To teach them the vital life skill of how to read a packet label so they can make a better choice for themselves.

2. To encourage children to start conversations at home about food

To empower children to start talking to their parents about what’s in the food they are eating

3. For parents and children to make better food choices together

To actively look at the foods in their pantry, choose what to change and find better alternatives together.

My ulterior motive is to make it normal, cool even, for kids to have real food in their lunchboxes. What an awesome world that would be eh?

More proof it’s working

There is rarely a week that goes by where I do not get feedback such as this below. And there is rarely a week that goes by where I do not do a little happy dance in our bus saying “I love what I do”. I am so grateful my kids get to see this – so they know they too one can do what they love.

Ok, I am just showing off a little now but I really could keep adding more and more of this type of feedback.

The Mad Food Science Program™ in Action

Class In Action
A teacher gets her class to choose items they usually have in their lunchbox each day. The class discovers this equates to 12 tspns of sugar – most of it added sugar!
TRC_031
Having fun with the kids and getting them to understand how their body uses processed food compared to real food
Green Smoothie Taste Test
Kids using their tongue for tasting. Green Smoothie. I’ve been told this looks like vomit, boogers and worse, but more often kids love it and come back for 2nds, 3rds and more!

Gratitude

Worldwide Printing Solutions – Our National Partner

Worldwide Printing Solutions ensure every child who participates in The Mad Food Science Program™ receives a printed handout to take home to their parents. This handout is absolutely instrumental in the conversations about food continuing at home.

I am so extremely grateful to Worldwide Printing Solutions Managing Director, Rob Dallimore, for being so forward thinking and believing in this program way before we really had the runs on the board. Today, I can not sing the praises of this company enough. The franchisees are all right behind our mission to Transform Children’s Health in Australia. Can I please ask that if you need any design or printing work (including promotional materials such as aprons, tablecloths, pens etc) to support Worldwide Printing Solutions as a show of gratitude for what they are doing for children’s health in Australia.

Audio-Technica Australia – Our Supporting Sponsor

I am pretty sure Audio-Technica Australia have saved my voice. Their gift of lapel microphone and a wireless microphone has ensured I have been able to talk to groups of over 100 people easily, then back up and do it again a few days in a row. Of course, I am not sure the kids are grateful because it means I can keep singing my 80’s songs to them – lol! Please check out how Audio-Technica may be able to support your sound and recording needs.
