Drum roll please….
After 14 months of dreaming, heartache and learning the power of resilience, we are so excited to be sharing with you our mobile billboard for Transforming Children’s Health In Australia. What do you think? Is she going to stop traffic?
We think she’s amazing, and we are forever grateful to Scott from Scott Sign (our National Partner) for taking a stand for children’s health, and generously donating the signwriting for our mobile billboards.
Together the bus and trailer will be a 19 mtr long striking statement about children’s health in Australia. The bus and the trailer have also been designed to work as individual pieces, so no matter where we are, whether it be with the bus on its own or trailer attached to the car, we will be making a statement about children’s health.
Of course, we have the amazing team at R&R Bus & Leisure Hire to thank for rescuing our bus and turning it into our home, office and school for our kids. Their fantastic skills have turned our small 22 square metre space internally into our driving cabin, dining area, lounge area, kitchen, fully functioning bathroom with shower and toilet, kids bunkroom, and mum and dad space too!
We also have 4 different zones inside and outside the bus to control our music (it’s our sanity when on live trips with the kids) , 8 solar panels which should allow us to live off the grid, 800 litres of fresh water, and capacity for 250 litres of grey (waste) water. Our home on wheels. And although we have paid the R&R team for this work, we have included them as a National Partner because we know the additional hours they have put in to bring our home to fruition.
At the time of writing this, the internals of the bus are undergoing the final touches and we’ve been told we should be able to collect it on Monday 28th September – 3 days!
It’s horrible, but we’re actually trying not to be excited about it just in case the date is missed again. You could say it’s kind of a protective instinct at the moment. Here’a fantastic cartoon by one of our friends which kind of sums up where we’ve been at – for a VERY long time.
But that’s enough of the sad-sack talk – lets talk about the exciting stuff!
You’re Invited To Our Launch
Yes, after 14 months of working towards this, we’ve finally set a date for our Official Australian Tour Launch!
Saturday 10th October 2015 is World Mental Health Day, and National Nutrition Week is 11th – 17th October 2015. Since Israel’s depression was the catalyst for our journey into the world of health and wellness, and because The Root Cause is ALL about Nutrition, it makes PERFECT sense to officially launch our Australian Tour to co-incide with these dates.
We’d love to invite you all to come along and see us off and be the first to see our home and mobile billboard in real life.
Here’s the digital invitation:
If you’re not in NSW or Sydney area, or simply can’t make it, never fear, we know you are there with us in spirit. We will post a few videos in post the week after, and if I can get my head around the latest social media trend of Periscope, I will do a couple of those too.
Australian Tour Dates and Locations
The aim of the Australian Tour is to reach 100,000 children and parents across the 18 months we travel this vast country. We’re confident with your support we can achieve this aim. So far, even without our mobile billboard, we have reached over 1,500 children and parents.
We are so grateful to our longest serving National Partner, Worldwide Printing Solutions who have provided The Root Cause with printed handouts for children and parents almost since my mission was conceived. I’ve had dealings with many Worldwide Printing Solutions offices on the East Coast of Australia so far, and every single one of them has provided exceptional service and quality. Please show them your love by using their amazing printing and design services, and be sure to mention The Root Cause.

Thank you all for your support – it’s kept us going in the hard times. We look forward to seeing you when we roll into a town near you.
With love and wellness, from all of us,
