KATE MASON
Certified Instructor
Kate is a mum, a health advocate, paramedic and educator who helps individuals, families, community groups and schools to achieve better health through small manageable steps. She is a change maker and passionate foodie who believes health and wellness comes from nourishing our bodies from the inside with wholesome, real food that also tastes amazing.
Kate knows first hand from years of shift work and feeding her own family how eating real and delicious food IS achievable in our busy lives.
Kate holds two degrees in Bachelors of Health Science, one with Honours from LaTrobe University, the other in Paramedicine from Victoria University. Having worked for over 13 years as a Paramedic, Kate has worked with people across the spectrum of wellness, from newborn babies and healthy, independent 100 year old’s, to those crippled with chronic health and lifestyle diseases. She is frustrated by the “band aid” approach too often relied upon in our medical system and is constantly seeking out holistic and natural approaches to prevent ill health.
In 2021 Kate joined with The Root Cause to share the impact our current food culture and over reliance on convenience foods is having on our children’s health and behaviours in our classrooms every day. Kate is passionate to share all her learnings with you and is available to deliver the Children’s Health Program and Mad Food Science Incursion to schools and community groups during the NSW school term.Favourite Recipe
Too many to narrow it to just one! Traditional crispy roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings always goes down well in our house. Breakfast is probably my favourite meal though, with a delicious crispy sweet potato and vegetable hash with poached eggs from our backyard chooks or a vibrant dragon fruit smoothie bowl sets me up for the day ahead.
