I’d love to introduce you to Charter Hall. We’re calling them a Corporate Superstar because their financial support is helping to take a stand for Children’s Health In Australia.
Let me share with you a little about just how significant Charter Hall’s support is.
They have very generously funded the Awabakal Ltd Aboriginal Community in Newcastle to participate in The Mad Food Science Program.
The health statistics for this community are significantly worse than the average Australian health statistics. This is why Charter Halls funding of Awabakal Ltd is so significant:
- 41% of Awabakal children 5-17 are overweight – this is 15% higher than the NSW average
- 42% of Awabakal children suffer ear infections
- 32% of Awabakal children suffer asthma
- 21% of Awabakal children suffer recurrent skin infections
- 19% of Awabakal children suffer chest infections.
Charter Hall’s donation means 260 children, parents and staff of Awabakal Ltd will directly participate in the program, whilst the broader community will participate through a new social media Mad Food Science Program specifically aimed at engaging teens and young parents who do not participate directly in the classes.
The training at Awabakal Ltd will mark the official start of The Root Cause’s Australian Tour to Transform Children’s Health. It also coincides with the start of National Nutrition Week.
Charter Hall are one of Australia’s leading property groups, and they are Transforming Children’s Health in Australia.
