Cheesy Bean Recipe
I've been exploring how to introduce more bean based meals into the way we eat because:
- they are affordable.
- loaded with fibre which is so important for our digestive health.
- packed with protein which is important for maintaining and repairing our body, plus they help keep you fuller for longer.
- a good source of complex carbohydrate for energy.
- they tend to take on the flavour of what you add to them.
- they are plant food so add to your count of vegetables for the day.
I saw a reel of this recipe by the Nude Nutritionist (follow her for loads of great information and recipes). The recipe looked super easy so I asked Israel to make it for dinner one night and we served it with 2 different salads.
The verdict - meal time favourite by all. Simple to make according to Chef Israel.
You now me, I always like to ask myself how can I boost nutrition. Next time I make this I'll add in some diced zucchini, grated carrot and some grated cauliflower.
