About the Handbook
It’s becoming more important than ever that we stand proudly together. Here’s why:
Do you know that today, 1 in 20 kids are diagnosed with ADHD. In the 70’s and 80’s this was 1 in 10,000!
Almost 1 in 2 kids have at least 1 chronic health condition.
25% of primary aged children report feeling highly anxious most days
It’s time!
What happens for this generation of kids, will determine what happens for the next generation. If we allow these statistics to continue, the next generation – our grandkids – are likely to be living with chronic illness.
In this handbook, I have pulled together the following resources to help you be brave, strong and confident for your kids, their friends, this generation and the future generations of kids.
What you’ll find in this Handbook is:
5 Simple Steps to be a Kids Health Hero
Over 10 Different Template Letters to approach teachers, principals and sports clubs
26 Different fundraising ideas that support the health of our kids and the planet
Over 60 Simple Swap ideas for rewards, sports carnivals, parties, class lessons, canteen/tuckshop and lunchboxes
Everything you need to know about The Children’s Health Program – what it is, how to talk about it, ways it can be funded, stories of transformation from our partner schools and how to approach your school.
