Winner Winner Chicken Dinner as the saying goes. Look what happened since my last newsletter.
Making Friends With Food by The Root Cause™ (formerly known as The Children's Health Program) won the prestigious Promoting Healthy Living Award at the Murrumbidgee Primary Healthcare Awards.
It would be remiss of me not to congratulate my wonderful Certified Instructors, Justine (on my left) and Kate (on my right) for their incredible work in the region. Without them, we would not have this award.
Of course, we couldn't have won this award without the amazing support of the MPHN's own team who believed in our idea of empowering whole school communities to make better friends with food.
Ok, my little brag is over now, so on with the rest of the newsletter. I'm including a pie party pie recipe which was a huge success in last weekends Kids Health Quest Cook-Along, plus some other happenings too.
Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend. I'm off for a little road trip with our daughter. I'm looking forward to spending some quality time one on one time with her.

School Information Sessions
It was so great last week to run information sessions for parents and school leaders about our school partnership programs - the Mad Food Science Incursion and Making Friends With Food™.
You can help us Stand for Children's Health by talking to teachers and leaders at your school about our work and directing them to the Information Session page we have set up.
. You can use words like:
- have you heard about the great work The Root Cause is doing with schools. The Root Cause is a trusted education partner with over a decade of collaborating with schools.
- Food is foundational to well-being.
- Science shows that nutrition affects school life outcomes.
- Schools are using food literacy as an improvement tool because it can help boost well-being, improve learning and behaviour, and reduce waste.
